UkBd Times Desk:

More than one person is believed to have died in a terror attack on London this evening following reports of a van mowing down pedestrians on London Bridge  and stabbing at Borough Market

Police are dealing with two separate incidents at London Bridge and Borough Market involving a van attack, gunfire and alleged stabbings.

Armed police placed London Bridge on lockdown, while officers raced to the scene of reported stabbings outside a pub in Borough Market. Police attended a third incident in Vauxhall which has not confirmed to be terror-related.

Prime Minister Treresa May has said that the “terrible incident” is being treated as a “potential act of terrorism”.

Five or six people are believed to have been mowed down by a white van on the bridge at 10.10pm on Saturday.

Witnesses who were enjoying nights out in pubs and bars in the area were warned to barricade themselves indoors, while people on the streets surrounding London Bridge began to run for their lives.

Police said multiple stabbings were carried out inside the Southwark Tavern and on Southwark Street near Borough Market, before police responded to the third incident in Vauxhall.

Scotland Yard warned people to avoid the area and London Bridge station has been closed. Downing Street said Mrs May was in contact with officials following the incidents.
